Fornax was an attempt to transform any GitHub repository into a context‑aware technical questionnaire. It used AI to analyze codebases and generate project‑specific questions, offering a practical tool for interviewers and a realistic practice platform for candidates. The prototype combined a React/Vite front‑end, an Express‑Bun backend, and Git automation.
Development paused before reaching a polished state because priorities shifted and time constraints prevented full testing and optimization. I lacked the bandwidth to complete the integration of the UI, backend, and AI modules. Consequently, the project did not move beyond the prototype phase.
If continued, Fornax might have become a widely used tool to streamline technical interviews, allowing recruiters to gauge candidate understanding quickly. It could have offered a suite of reusable question templates and analytics on candidate performance. The platform would have bridged the gap between static coding tests and realistic project evaluation.
